Mr Kessler is disappointed that he is unable to make it to Australia on this occasion, but he will be delivering the same workshop content in a digital format. Coronavirus and the logistics of event management have presented challenges for TATRA but we are doing our utmost to ensure that high quality professional development sessions continue to be delivered to you in a safe and comfortable environment.
David Kessler is the world’s most well-known expert on grieving. He worked closely with the legendary Elisabeth Kübler-Ross for the last decade of her life. They co-authored two bestselling books: On Grief and Grieving and Life Lessons. In On Grief and Grieving (2005), David Kessler and Elisabeth Kübler-Ross introduced the five stages for grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Now the world’s foremost on healing and loss has discovered a new stage of grief – Meaning. Acceptance couldn’t be the final stage: meaning was necessary for healing.
In Finding Meaning, with the permission of the Kubler Ross Family Foundation, he added this crucial new sixth stage of grief, the stage where hope and healing can often be found. In the exploration of a sixth stage, he notes that we often talk about Post-Traumatic Stress yet meaning can be the key to Post Traumatic Growth. He gives concrete hard-earned advice on how to make that happen.
